There are now many choices when it comes to the braces, new technology is allowing braces to be smaller and more discrete. Below we discuss two braces options we provide at Western Ortho.
When most people think of orthodontic treatment, they think of metal braces. These traditional braces have been in use for over 100 years and are still one of the most popular ways to straighten your teeth. Luckily for our patients today, technological advancements have allowed the braces to become smaller and more discrete. No more “metal mouth” with uncomfortable bands around your teeth!
We are proud to use the Mini Master Series from American Orthodontics. These precision braces are manufactured in the USA of a high grade medical stainless steel and are some of the smallest braces available to make your treatment more comfortable than ever before.
The wires that straighten your teeth are held into the brace with a tiny rubber band (called an O-ring or module) and this gives you the opportunity to personalise your braces with a splash of colour. Choose from our wide colour range and use your braces to support your favourite sports team or co-ordinate with your outfit! Of course, if you’d prefer to draw less attention to your braces, we have silver and tooth coloured bands that blend in and are hardly noticed.
Clear braces are an excellent and aesthetic alternative to metal braces as they blend into the teeth and are less noticeable. Clear brackets are popular with adults undergoing treatment but are available to teenagers looking for a subtler option as well.
At Western Ortho we use 3M™ Clarity™ Advanced Ceramic Brackets. These ultra-small translucent brackets are designed to blend with your natural tooth colour, while resisting staining and discolouration throughout treatment. The brackets have a smooth surface and rounded corners which enhance patient comfort. You can “blend in or be bold” by choosing clear or coloured modules on your braces.
One of the best features of the 3M™ Clarity™ Advanced Ceramic Brackets is the incorporation of an innovative design feature which allows for easy removal of braces at the completion of treatment.
With these advanced technologies, clear braces can be used to treat even the most difficult case.
