There are now many choices when it comes to the braces, new technology is allowing braces to be smaller and more discrete. Below we discuss three braces options we provide at Western Ortho.

Metal braces

When most people think of orthodontic treatment, they think of metal braces. These traditional braces have been in use for over 100 years and are still one of the most popular ways to straighten your teeth. Luckily for our patients today, technological advancements have allowed the braces to become smaller and more discrete. No more “metal mouth” with uncomfortable bands around your teeth!

We are proud to use the Mini Master Series from American Orthodontics. These precision braces are manufactured in the USA of a high grade medical stainless steel and are some of the smallest braces available to make your treatment more comfortable than ever before.

The wires that straighten your teeth are held into the brace with a tiny rubber band (called an O-ring or module) and this gives you the opportunity to personalise your braces with a splash of colour. Choose from our wide colour range and use your braces to support your favourite sports team or co-ordinate with your outfit! Of course, if you’d prefer to draw less attention to your braces, we have silver and tooth coloured bands that blend in and are hardly noticed.

Clear braces

Clear braces are an excellent and aesthetic alternative to metal braces as they blend into the teeth and are less noticeable. Clear brackets are popular with adults undergoing treatment but are available to teenagers looking for a subtler option as well.

At Western Ortho we use Radiance ceramic brackets from American Orthodontics. These braces are made of clear sapphire and are the clearest brace available. Not only are these braces attractive, they are strong, with each brace created from a single crystal of pure grown sapphire. Did you know that sapphire is one of the hardest materials in nature, second only to diamond! Because of this, clear braces can be used to treat even the most difficult case.

Gold braces

While some people want to hide their braces, there are many who see the braces as a opportunity to express themselves. We see people spend a small fortune on getting gold teeth, now we’d like to introduce you to gold braces.

If you need a little extra bling in your life, gold braces may be for you! Iconix by American Orthodontics is a stainless steel champagne coloured brace. It offers the best of both worlds – the strength and durability of stainless steel and the aesthetics of “white gold”. A unique proprietary process ensures these brackets will stay champagne-coloured for the duration of your treatment.
